Welcome to Athabasca Music!
I was born in Newfoundland into a very musical family. Many of our family gatherings are someone at the piano, organ, guitars and spoons. Music was and has always been a part of my life. My Dad taught himself to play the organ, sang with Richard Eaton Singers, led a choir and currently leads a vocal quartet. My Aunt, my namesake, plays piano and led, toured with a musical group, and other aunts and uncles play the keys and guitar. Growing up surrounded by music helped shape my love for it and inspired my own musical journey.
My Musical Journey
I began learning piano at the age of 5. I completed much of my private piano training through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Program before continuing my studies at the Alberta Conservatory. I later studied jazz at GMCC.
In 2025, I completed the RCM Elementary Teachers Course, specializing in classical music training.
My experience as a musician began early. At just 17 years old, I accompanied my first musical theatre production. Since then, I have accompanied numerous dinner theatre productions and choirs, played for the Edmonton School of Ballet, accompanied many vocal students, and currently lead my church worship team.
My Teaching Philosophy
Music is my passion, and I have decided to share my skills and knowledge with others through teaching.
